R R Shah to head surrogate TV ad norms panel

In its efforts to enforce the ban on the telecast of liquor and cigarette advertisements on television, the Centre has constituted a committee under chairmanship of Prasar Bharati CEO R R Shah to determine what constitutes a surrogate advertisement. The committee members include Discovery Channel’s Kiran Karnik, Zee Television’s R K Singh, Sahara TV’s Mahesh Prasad, Sony Entertainment Television’s Rajesh Kumar, Asianet’s R Madhavan Kutty and STAR TV’s Peter Mukherjea.
