Prasar Bharati continues to dither on Metro channel slots

More than ten days after opening the financial bid for the late night slots on DD Metro channel, there's no decision on allotting time to any company. According to a DD official, when only a single bid is received, only the Prasar Bharati Board can make a decision. And for no specific reasons, the Prasar Bharati board has been delaying its meeting to deliberate on the bidding issue. Earlier in the month, Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC) emerged as the only bidder for the 10:30 to 11:00 p.m. slot on DD Metro. There was no other bidder for this or any other slot. DD Metro had auctioned five 30-minute slots from 10:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
