The Pentamedia is awaiting the RBI clearance for the transponder deal, before it can launch the children’s channel, Splash. The company is in talks with Sony Entertainment Television to make Splash a part of their bouquet for distribution. Talks are on with Asianet for distribution in the Southern region.
Pentamedia Graphics has formed a wholly owned subsidiary, Intelevision, for the television business. Intelevision plans to spend Rs 20 crores in each of the first three years of its operations.
The company has tied up with international studios like Columbia TriStar, Universal Studios, Warner Brothers and the BBC for content. It also plans to utilise the creative skills of Pentamedia Graphics and Intelevision’s own production and programming capabilities.
