O&M bags Bajaj Pulsar account

Ogilvy & Mather (O&M) has bagged the account for Bajaj Pulsar bike, the first bike to be launched independently from Bajaj Auto stable. The account estimated at Rs 8 crores, was pitched for by two other agencies -- Ambience D'Arcy and Leo Burnett, other than O&M. Pulsar is expected to be launched on November 1, 2001.

Interestingly, Leo Burnett today handles a major part of Bajaj Auto business. Almost all the account of Bajaj Auto is handled by the agency.

Expected to be a top end product and thus, priced competitively, Pulsar will be launched in two variants: 150cc and 180cc. The company's existing products comprise Boxer in low-end segment, Calibre Cromo and Aspire in mid segment and Eliminator in the high-end segment.
