Nehru Zoo opens sponsoring of big animals

It will cost you anywhere between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20 lakh to adopt animals at the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad and two other zoos in AP, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati. In the Nehru Zoo, one of the big cat can be yours for Rs 1 lakh per year. Or if you feel particularly rich, you might adopt the whole lion safari for Rs 20 lakh. The tiger safari will cost you half of that. Any corporate or individual who adopts an animal can have its, his or her or name displayed on the cages. The government hit upon the scheme to raise much-needed funs for the zoos in the state. The scheme is expected to be notified sometime this week.
