MTV to have a date with Colin Powell

MTV has lined up an hour-long forum with US secretary of state Colin Powell in which young people would get an opportunity to quiz the former general on terrorism and other issues directly affecting them.

The Gulf War veteran, who now holds the top diplomatic post in the US, would take live questions which are expected to range from war against terrorism, to America’s policies on specific geographical locations fielded by youngsters from India, Middle East, the UK, Brazil and Russia apart from the US.

The live forum, in which Powell would be at an MTV studio in Washington and be connected live via satellite to other MTV locations across the world, would be held some time in February. Questions can also be fielded online through the MTV website.

The channel hopes that the event would be a lively and open exchange about the issues being faced by the youth across the world and help develop world opinion against all the ills plaguing humanity today.
