Modi Entertainment Network shelves teleshopping plans

Modi Entertainment Network has stalled its teleshopping venture with the US firm and has decided not to get into the Indian market now.

Modi Entertainment has hired Arthur Andersen as the consultant. While the company will consolidate its existing businesses, it has decided to defer its new ventures. Chief among them is the distribution and production businesses. Modi distributes channels like Doordarshan Sports and Hallmark in the country.

Modi Entertainment had earlier shelved off its proposed channel, Buzz TV, for children. It was to be a joint venture with Hallmark Entertainment Network.
