KBC Junior ranked fourth among Top 10 children programmes

As per latest Intam ratings, brought out by ORG-MARG, in the week starting April 30, KBC Junior, on its debut (May 6), notched up ratings of 5.74, bagging the eight position in the Top 10. The regulars KBC show, which now appears thrice a week, came14th, with ratings of 5.08.

The KBC Junior ranked fourth among Top 10 children programmes for the week with ratings of 7.88. In the first half-hour the programme gets a rating as high as 8.99, while in the second half ratings come down to 6.73. Meanwhile, Star Plus, with its Saas-Bahu saga, continued its reign at the helm, with as many as nine programmes in the top 10 slots. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kaabhi Bahu Thi occupied the top four slots. The next three positions were bagged by Kaahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Sun TV's daily soap, Chiththi, occupied the 10th position.

The figures pertain to metros, including Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and some cities from Uttar Pradesh such as Kanpur, Varanasi and Lucknow.

Researchers and media planners feel it is still early days for KBC Junior. However, if KBC Junior is able to attract viewer interest over the next three weeks, it could act as short in the arm for even the senior show.
