Hyundai signs as gold sponsor of ESPN World Cup coverage

Korea's Hyundai Motors has signed up as a gold sponsor for ESPN's World Cup [soccer] news and information coverage on its pan-regional sports network in Latin America. The deal will bring Hyundai exposure on sports news and information program SportsCenter, and on ESPNdeportes.com, the company's Spanish-language Web site.

On SportsCenter, segments such as daily updates and tournament reviews will carry Hyundai branding. On ESPNdeportes.com, the auto maker will be a sponsor on the site's live results, scores, pre-game and post-game analysis, and a World Cup photo gallery.

Other advertising elements in Hyundai's campaign include sponsorship of ESPN's 28/58's (World Cup updates aired at approximately 28 and 58 minutes after each hour), its World Cup vignettes featuring player profiles and team profiles, and the network's World Cup trivia feature.

Samsung Electronics recently signed as a platinum sponsor of ESPN's World Cup news and information coverage.

ESPN Latin America reaches around 14.5 million households.
