HLL’s leading shampoo brand Clinic Plus is the main sponsor for Koteeswaran. According to ad industry sources, HLL may also air its TVCs during Chappar Phar Ke, the yet-to-be launched Sony quiz show. Sony is believed to be offering the ad spots at Rs 2.5 lakh per 10 seconds.
HLL is understood to have avoided KBC,s as it did not make economic sense. The ad rates for KBC are said to be at around Rs 3.5 lakh for 10 seconds. HLL’s advertising expenditure stands at Rs 668.95 (1999). This was hiked by 38.8 per cent over the previous year.
