HBO India, backed by strong advertisement sales is expected to break even by 2004. At present 50 per cent of its revenue comes from ad sales. In a bid to improve its penetration, the channel is also looking at new programming.
The channel is currently available at Rs 8 per subscriber per month. HBO is available to 10 million households in India. HBO India is one of the two markets worldwide, which has advertisement breaks. In the other markets, the channel works totally as pay channel.
