ETV to launch Urdu channel on August 15

Eenadu Television (ETV) plans to launch officially its Urdu satellite channel on August 15. ETV Urdu will be the second Urdu channel in the country after UTN. The new channel will air daily serials, weekly soaps, game shows, talk shows, fiction, non-fiction etc.

Fifty per cent of the programming will be done in-house, while 25 per cent will be sourced from overseas and the rest will be commissioned. ETV is also planning to launch Bangla Plus, a channel for the Bangladeshi audience with about four hours of native programmes and the rest filled with Bengali programming.
