ESPN scores with interactive game show ‘Super Selector’

ESPN Star Sports’s interactive game show ‘Super Selector’ claims to have received a record number of entries, beating other sites who run such online games across the world, particularly on football. ESPN has got over one lakh fans selecting their teams in just nine days to play this October’s game.

’Super Selector,’ according to ESPN, has set a world record for the fastest ‘sign-up’ rate for any similar online game in the world. Overall, 1.02 lakh cricket fans registered their teams online, with maximum entries across India coming from Western India (31,147), followed by Southern India (29,680), Northern India (20,125), and Central India (4,117). It has also received 7,121 international entries. The total page views for the ‘Super Selector’ page on the espnstar.com Website total 1.44 million.

ESPN launched the Naseeruddin Shah-hosted game show ‘Super Selector’ just before the India-South Africa cricket tour. The fans playing the game have an opportunity to substitute three team members before October 21. Participants can make their entry either through the Website or through forms available through India Today, the national print partner of ESPN Star Sports Super Selector. The October winner will join the cricket commentary team with Sunil Gavaskar and Geoffrey Boycott in the third Test match of the India-South Africa test series.

Super Selector is sponsored by Peter England, Suzuki Fiero and Kingfisher.
