DD, AIR to have two new deputy DGs

Prasar Bharati announced two senior-most deputy director generals, T Malakar and P Gaekwad. They have been delegated powers of director-generals in Doordarshan and All India Radio, respectively. Both will enjoy the powers of a DG and will be responsible for the day-to-day functioning, except engineering.

Both the organisations have not had a full-time DG for quite sometime and the last full-fledged DG which the DD had was way back in the early 90s when Shiv Sharma held the post. AIR too did not have a DG after OP Kejriwal was shifted from the post about two years back.
