CII planning a series of mega public service blitz on TV

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is planning a series of television projects. Most of these projects will be related to the area of education, healthcare and girl child. The CII, in a joint venture with Riverbank Studios, is launching a ‘‘fun learning series’’ called Khullam Khulla on Doordarshan’s National channel this Saturday. Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan is supporting the project through his message on the series. CII is also talking to the Zee Network for airing of this series.

To begin this Saturday, this TV series is targeted at children, particularly those in rural areas. The emphasis is to motivate the child to learn and look forward to being educated.

CII’s Education Committee chose DD to air the programme because of its tremendous reach, said CII Khullam Khulla Project Committee chairman Surinder Kapoor.

Within the next three months, the Confederation is also expected to launch public service messages on various TV channels. DD will igure on top of the list of channels, which will beam these messages.

The topics likely to be covered in these messages are population control, awareness on HIV/AIDS, education and significance of sending children to school, and girl child. While CII is all set to go ahead with this project, some of its members will provide support for jingles.

For yet another TV project, CII is in talks with the Unicef. CII also plans to rope in the Department of Child and Women Development for this venture.

To be ready in the next few months, this project will again focus on the girl child and prevention of foeticide.
