Cartoon Network is expecting a 35 per cent growth in advertising revenues in the current financial year.
According to Jennifer Fletcher, senior vice-president (advertising) Turner International, Asia Pacific, India is a priority market for the Cartoon Netowrk. Over the last nine months the channel have brought in a lot of localisation in the programming. At present, Cartoon Network have nine hours of Hindi and two hours of Tamil programing. The channel have also customised a lot of their promotions and adapted to the local market. All this will help them to achieve a 35 per cent growth in the advertising revenues.
Cartoon Network has acquired some local animation content namely the Pandavas and Sindbad.
