Buena Vista negotiating with Sun TV for Disney slot in Tamil

Buena Vista Television India is in negotiations with Sun TV for a Disney slot in Tamil. Disney show will be of half-hour duration and will be aired three days a week. This will be the first time that Buena Vista will air Disney animation slots in the Tamil satellite television market.

This will be the first time that Buena Vista will air Disney animation slots in the Tamil satellite television market. The company already has a half-hour time slot on the Telugu channel, Eenadu TV. The deal with Eenadu is for its programme, Disney Sandhya which is aired three days a week on the 4:30 to 5:00 pm time slot.

Buena Vista’s deal with Eenadu TV is on a revenue sharing basis. On the deal with Sun TV, the company would pay the channel a telecast fee for each episode. In return, Buena Vista would get free commercial time (FCT) to the extent of approximately 210 seconds per episode.

It is expected that Buena Vista in time will extend the Disney slot to Gemini and Udaya - the Telugu and Kannada channels, respectively, on the Sun network.
