Bengal cable operators to conduct first ever workshop

The Forum of Cable Operators, the umbrella body of nearly 80 per cent operators in Kolkata, and several others across Howrah, Hooghly and North and South 24 Parganas, is working on logistics for a full-fledged plan to train cable operators through workshops, the first of its kind in India.

City areas are being demarcated into north, south, central, east and west. FCO teams will fan out to these zones from July-end to conduct the sessions for operators. The forum has formed about a dozen teams to carry out the interactive workshops.

This creates room for similar sessions to unfold simultaneously in district towns covered by the FCO network. A three-day pilot workshop has just been finished in Nadia in the run-up to the more ambitious citywide plan.
