Balaji Telefilms to renegotiate pricing with Star TV

Balaji Telefilms has renegotiated with Star TV for an increase in price of its successful prime time daily soap, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, on Star Plus channel. The revised price will come into effect from July, subject to the condition that the soap achieves average television ratings points (TRP) of 8.5-9. The soap currently has ratings higher than that.

Balaji Telefilms will be demanding a higher price for its second successful soap on Star Plus, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki. According to an agreement with Star TV, the production house could ask for a revised price in July if the show reaches an average TRP of 6.

Balaji Telefilms has lined up three prime time shows and an afternoon-band soap. For Sony Entertainment Television, the production house is making Kasauti, a daily show at 8:00 p.m. The programme is likely to be aired from August. For Sahara, Balaji Telefilms is making two prime time shows. While Kokh is a weekly show, the content company has got a nod for a daily soap. The name is yet to be finalised.

Balaji Telefilms will do an afternoon-band soap for Star Plus, after having created two successful prime-time soaps for the channel. The terms and conditions are being worked out.
