B4U to shift focus on Bollywood

B4U is shifting from a Hindi general entertainment to a Bollywood channel in September. The management has also decided to make it a pay channel by December this year. The channel will priced at Rs 5 - 8 a month per subscriber. The channel will be encrypted by September-end and go pay by December-end.

B4U plans to seed the market with 5,000 boxes in three months, after September. The channel may also decide to drop Modi Entertainment Networks (MEN) as its distribution partner.

The channel will air three movies a day. It will have Bollywood star talk shows, lifestyles, masala clips and chat lines related to the website. It is waiting for a smooth transition from Pas-4 to Pas-10.
