Alliances forged with Enadu TV & DD

CNN will begin marketing a fresh, unified news product by the yearend delivering it simultaneously on TV channels and on its web-based services. CNN International had forged several alliances in the Indian sub-continent for news content. These included Doordarshan and Eenadu TV in India, Nepal TV and the Sri Lankan Rupavahini that allowed reciprocal use of news footage. This access helped CNN maintain a lean organisation in the country. CNN International executive VP and general manager Rena Golden denied press reports that the network was launching a Hindi news channel or Hindi programmes on its regular South Asia channel.
