AIR to shift FM channels

Prasar Bharati has decided to start 10 new FM Channels on January 26, 2001. But the catch is that eight related language units in New Delhi will be shifted to the state capitals where these language skills will come of use. The move is also aimed at improving the regional news broadcasts which are suffering. At present, the AIR office in the Capital produces both national and international news in regional languages which are telecast three times a day on an average.
