Ab Amitabh lenge ek chotta sa break from KBC

Amitabh Bachchan may take a break from the hugely popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) in the year 2002. Before leaving for Los Angeles Bachchan hinted he may not continue anchoring KBC, beyond April 2002.

KBC went on air in 2000 and has been the most popular game show since. Bachchan's charisma has had as big a role to play in keeping viewers hooked as the prospect of winning Rs 10 million in the licensed Indian version of the British show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire".

Coming after a string of flopped "comeback" films, KBC made Bachchan — who dominated the silver screen in the late 1970s and 1980s — a household name once again, adding an entirely new generation to his legion of fans.
