ZEE Theatre to tour nation, stage 12 plays across 15 cites

ZEE Theatre, a special offering from the stable of leading global content company ZEE Entertainment Enterprises, has announced its very first tour, wherein theatre stalwarts will come together to showcase works of some of the most acclaimed playwrights nationwide.

The specially curated four-month tour starts on January 14, and will travel to key cities in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Rajasthan, in order to stage 50 shows. Committed to their promise to make theatre accessible to audiences across the country, ZEE Theatre, in its first foray, will showcase stage plays featuring Makarand Deshpande, Sunil Shanbag, Mahesh Dattani, Nitish Bharadwaj, Sonali Kulkarni, and Milind Phatak, among others.  

The tour seeks to catalyse the growth and understanding of theatre in the country by bringing forth genres ranging from drama, suspense, social issues, musicals, classics, and satires. The aim is to create and curate the best of Indian theatre for national and international audiences. ZEE Live, a division of ZEE Entertainment Enterprises, which aims at creating memorable on-ground experiences for audiences, will execute this tour across the nation.

The Zee Theatre tour will stage the following plays in January: Sir Sir Sarla, Internal Affairs, Chakravyuha, Chuhal, Jana Tha Roshanpura, White Lily, Knight Riders.
