Zabardast Hit 95 FM launches Walk the Haq – pedestrian safety campaign

Zabardast Hit 95 FM in association with Delhi Traffic Police launched Walk the Haq, a pedestrian safety campaign July 13, aimed at reminding and reinforcing the fact that a one metre footpath is a right to every pedestrian. The campaign included several on-air and outdoor broadcasting activities.

The month long Walk the Haq – Ek Meter Footpath campaign has now moved into its final phase.

On September 09, Zabardast Hit 95 FM organized a one kilometre long walk between PUSA Gol Chakkar to Shankar Road T-point. The walk was led by the Special Commissioner of Police- Dr. Muktesh Chander, accompanied by the radio station’s RJ Panky with his Zabardast team.

The objective of the walk was to bring to notice the change that is needed on the footpaths and zebra crossings of Delhi for safety of pedestrians.

A review walk is planned on the same location a week later to mark the positive change.

Commenting on the initiative, Pujita Mehta, Programming Head of the station said, “With the consistent violation of traffic rules, pedestrian safety has become an everyday challenge but still it is ignored. We decided to take up this initiative and give back to the city what is their basic right – to walk safely and freely on footpath and zebra crossing.”

Expressing his delight to be a part of this initiative, Special Commissioner of Police, Dr. Muktesh Chander added, “The national capital experiences traffic chaos throughout the day and amidst that, some really crucial issues are overlooked and pedestrian safety is one of them. I am glad that Zabardast Hit 95 FM took this up and is supporting Delhi Traffic Police and we are proud to be a part of this initiative.”
