Sony Six expands reach across DTH platforms

Multi Screen Media is all set launch its channel Sony Six on four DTH platform services – Tata Sky, Airtel, Videocon and Dish TV. Sony Six is already available on Videocon and Dish TV digital platforms.

Commenting on the launch of the channel across DTH platforms, NP Singh, COO, Multi Screen Media, said, “We are happy to announce that in addition to Dish TV and Videocon, Six is now also available on Tata Sky and Airtel. DTH platforms have achieved a strong distribution reach and with this development, we will be able to further strengthen our distribution in India.”

The channel will showcase sports action in Standard and High Definition from its line-up of international sporting events, including cricket, football, mixed martial arts and basketball, among others.

Commenting on this development, Rajesh Kaul, President, One Alliance, said, “The sports genre has always been a strong growth driver, and with Six now available on an array of DTH platforms, viewers can enjoy their favourite sports with enhanced visual and sound quality.”

The channel will also telecast the live broadcast of the 2012-13 play-off season of the NBA as well as live telecasts of the fights from the UFC octagon every month. Indian Premier League Season 6 will also now be showcased on the channel.
