Sony DADC Home Entertainment has announced the appointment of Rajat Kakar as Business Head. His last stint was with Nextgen Telesolutions.
In his new role, he will be based in Mumbai and will work closely with international and Indian content holders and help shape the traditional and emerging retail landscape.
Commenting on Kakar’s appointment, Chris Reiser, EVP, Sony DADC International said, “We are delighted to welcome such an experienced person as Rajat on board. With his comprehensive understanding of publisher needs and the retail landscape, he will play a major role in Sony DADC’s move towards becoming an end-to-end supply chain service company.”
Kakar said, “I am more than excited to join this team and delighted to be mandated with setting up a state-of-the-art, sales, marketing and distribution entity which will maximise sales growth for the international studios as well as for local content holders.”
Kakar started his career with Asian Paints India, then moved to Procter & Gamble India and after that to Sony Music Entertainment, where he worked as director. He then became the Managing Director of Universal Music. He later moved to Ethos Swiss Watch Studios, Shades of Green and The Peninsula Publications and Studio. He has about 25 years of experience.
