This re-engineering exercise was conducted after a large scale reader survey (over 1.5 lac readers) across India. Readers from all walks of life, namely students, women, professionals, Industrialists, marketeers, self-employed and senior citizens were interviewed to seek their opinion and feedback on their favorite daily. This has helped the group to get a deep insight of their reading interest, knowledge requirements, habits and changing needs. Based on the survey outcome, changes have been brought about in terms of introduction of new sections, fresh color theme, contemporary design and layout, pictorial representations and so on. A new font type has specially been developed to offer the readers a better readability and visualization.
While making these changes, a considerable attention was given to the opinion of its growing young readers, which has resulted in the newspaper adopting a fresh youthful design theme to engage with the youth. Similarly, a variety of women centric content and features have been introduced keeping in mind its ever increasing women readers. The analytical approach and quest for knowledge has been met, with various properties on different pages.
