mCanvas forays into Middle East

mCanvas, in collaboration with IAS Media, has tied up with Gulf News to serve interactive ads to users on the publication’s mobile website. The mobile storytelling platform will serve as the technology and creative partner to Gulf News; providing its ad formats – Scroller, Sticker and Spotlight and access to its award winning creative team to produce ads for Gulf News’ clients.

Lavin Punjabi, CEO, mCanvas, said, “Being the largest media brand in the UAE, it brings me immense pleasure that mCanvas will serve as technology and creative partners to Gulf News. Our formats and campaigns have been highly appreciated in India and we are glad to serve the Middle Eastern market now. Our formats will equip the Gulf News ad sales team with new formats, which deliver the clients’ branding needs of engagement.”

Gulf News is known to be the largest news publication in the UAE, with online visitors not just from the Middle East but also India, USA and UK. This partnership is touted to increase value for both publisher and advertisers alike, and usher in a new era of interactive ads. mCanvas has collaborated with IAS Media — one of UAE’s biggest media concessionaires — to expand their reach in the Middle Eastern market.

Rajeev Khanna, Commercial Director, Gulf News, commented, “We are glad to associate with mCanvas. We needed the capability to deliver rich brand experiences on mobile, and the mCanvas platform helps us achieve that. Additionally, their ad formats also appeal to the users, are non-intrusive and easy to dismiss. The media and ad industry is slowly slanting towards a mobile-first approach and it is important to take notice of these changes and adopt measures that will help us stay relevant for our audiences.”

Launched in 2015, mCanvas has worked with over 150 brands like L’oreal, Star Plus, HBO, Fox Studios, Nissan, Toyota, Idea Cellular, ICICI Bank, etc. Their interactive and highly immersive ad units (Sticker, Scroller and Spotlight) deliver over 10x the engagement rates compared to standard mobile banners.
