BIG Ganga launches four new shows in January

BIG Ganga, the leading regional channel of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Purvanchal, is set to bring four new offerings to its viewers. The channel launches four new shows—Litti-Chokha, Ganga Sankranti, Buddha and Biraha—this month, starting January 14th.

Litti-Chokha, a travel comedy, will traverse Bihar, Jharkhand, and Purvanchal to explore their uniqueness, cuisine, cultural heritage, and local talent. Litti and Chokha are, in fact, the show’s quirky anchors. The half-hour show will be telecast at 4 pmevery weekend. The show will also be aired on 92.7 BIG FM’s Ranchi and Jamshedpur stations every Saturday and Sunday, at 8 pm. 

Ganga Sankranti, which revolves around the Makar Sankranti festivities,is also part of the new weekend segment and will capture the essence of Bhojpuri Hip-Hop and folk music in terms of both star and local talent. The special segment airs January 14thand 15th, at 5 pm on BIG Ganga.

The channel is strengthening its mythological line-up with Buddha, a historical, devotional, fiction series in Bhojpuri. The show airs Monday to Friday, at 6.30 pm, starting January 16th.

Biraha is a non-fictional offering based on the most popular traditional folk song form of the region,also called ‘Birha’. It strings together shortstories that will engage audiences. The show is scheduled to be telecast from 8 pm to 9 pm on January 21stand 22nd.

Speaking at the launch, a spokesperson for BIG Ganga said, “At BIG Ganga, we have always strived to produce original content, specially tailored to the needs and aspirations of our viewers. Our programming is a result of deep research and an in-depth understanding of the market. We cater to audiences with diverse tastes and preferences within the Hindi heartland. With these four offerings, we are catering to the deep pockets of the region with multiple genres of content.”

BIG Ganga is distributed through cable networks across the states of UP, MP, and Bihar. It reaches people via DEN, Digicable, WWIL, Hathway, Darsh, Maurya,and DTH players like Airtel, Dish, Reliance Digital, DD Direct, and Videocon.
