Barbie honours women achievers at Olympics 2012

With about 24-hours left for the London Olympics 2012 to commence, anticipation has reached fever pitch. For women especially, it has been a long road to equality at the Olympic Games, and it continues to be a tough path to success.

Iconic women such as Fanny Blankers-Koen, Lorna Johnstone, Joan Benoit, Maria Gorokhovskaya, Margaret Murdock, and India’s Sania Mirza, Saina Nehwal and Mary Kom have battled and beaten the odds to pave the way for future women aspirants and to create a world where girls can dream and achieve the greatest glory on the grandest stage of all.

To commemorate this everlasting spirit of success and triumph by women achievers and to honour the entire female contingent for Olympics 2012, Mattel Toys has launched ‘Barbie I Can Be’ range of dolls that includes champion gymnast, tennis player and trackstar dolls.

For more than five decades, Barbie has inspired girls to play out their dreams and Barbie I Can Be range of dolls further allows girls to try on and imagine themselves in different roles and careers.
