Angel Broking launches #BudgetPeCharcha campaign

In a lead up to the recently announced Union Budget 2016, Angel Broking, one of India’s largest stock-broking and wealth management companies, has initiated a month-long campaign - #BudgetPeCharcha across its digital properties.

With this campaign, the idea was to encapsulate the anticipation of the upcoming budget and engage users by giving them a chance to share their wish-list and views for the upcoming Union Budget - either through a text or video or through participation in several rounds of polls.

Executed by CogMat, a leading digital agency based in Mumbai,, the extensive campaign that kick-started on the day of Railway Budget has been gaining constant momentum with an array of activities. The initial launch saw a panel of experts from the brand sharing insightful information and decoding what the Railway Budget meant for the country. This was in sync with live updates and interactions on Facebook and Twitter.

The peak of the campaign, three days prior to the Union Budget announcement was the contest on Twitter on 26th Feb, with the native hashtag. With this contest, a series of objective and subjective questions were asked, thereby inviting participants to share their quirky entries and expectations from the Budget.  The contest received 4000 plus entries on Facebook and 7000 plus on Twitter. On the day of the contest, #BudgetPeCharcha trended in Mumbai at No. 1 and India at No. 4, garnering over 1.8 million impressions.

Commenting on the campaign and the brand’s vision to augment its brand’s digital presence, Gagan Singla, CMO, Angel Broking said, “Angel Broking has always been in the forefront of technology and innovation. We have been constantly evolving by providing digital solutions for our services, catering to today’s Digital Natives. The Union Budget being one of the most anticipated and talked about topics of the year.

For Angel Broking, it was the perfect opportunity to engage and interact with the new-era, tax-paying citizen, who now has access to 24/7 internet and is well versed with the social media and does strongly believe in sharing their views on key events. The idea was to bring every thought, reaction, expectation and opinion under a single point of focus, hence we conceptualised the campaign as #BudgetPeCharcha. This campaign was in line with the brand’s vision to engage with first-time investors using the digital platform. The results have helped us achieve that exceptionally. With support from the enthusiastic team at CogMat, we are thrilled to have achieved what we did with this campaign.”

Mitchelle Carvalho, Co-Founder, CogMat said, “#BudgetPeCharcha as an idea and campaign was extremely exciting for us at CogMat. The focus was to capitalize on every aspect of the Budget and engage with the audience in the most fun and quirky way. To break the monotony, we held a contest which saw a burst of interactions and conversations that made the ‘charcha’ much more exciting. We’re truly ecstatic to see such impeccable results.”

The campaign will conclude with a webinar that will address the most important concern - impact of the Union Budget 2016-17 that will be conducted by renowned analysts – Mayuresh Joshi, Siddarth Bhamre & Vaibhav Agarwal. These in-house experts of Angel Broking will offer a detailed analysis of the Union Budget 2016-17, its impact on different sectors and will also answer investor’s queries.
