Lodestar has been a popular name at the EMVIES. The agency is energetic with activities at this time of the year, preparing for the awards and then, as per Shashi Sinha, looking forward to its performance in the event. The agency is satisfied with the results in the last two EMVIES and is expecting to do well this year as well.

Sinha shares this and more on the EMVIES in this interview with Noor Fathima Warsia.

What is the role that EMVIES plays for Lodestar?

EMVIES has played a critical role for Lodestar in charging and motivation our teams and strengthening our relationship further with our clients because of the great performance Lodestar had at EMVIES last two years.

Where you satisfied with your performance last year

Of course, we were. How many awards you win depends on how many clients you have. Given the scale of our current operations, I think being the runner up agency was a distinction.

Would you say the platform attains its aim of recognising innovative work done by media marketers?

I Yes definitely, EMVIES is a great platform. It has grown substantially in the last three years. The awards have been tweaked every year to make them more comprehensive and I think that is paying off rather well.

Has EMVIES been successful in reflecting the industry's growth over the years?

The EMVIES in their current avatar is just three years old designed to adequately reflect the growth of media industry. The very fact that there are additions made to the awards indicates that it is reciprocating to the changes in the industry.


What are the areas in EMVIES that you think should be changed?


As, I mentioned that the award is barely three years old. Looking at the larger picture, we have a good thing going here. I think it's not fair to ask for any changes.

How would you compare EMVIES to international media awards?

The quality of advertising in India is comparable to international standards. Naturally the recognition that advertising gets also compares with the best across the world.
