times in 2005 compared to 2004
• Maximum advertising seen in West Zone.
• Almost all advertising of Analgesic/Cold Tablets done
in Newspapers
• Crocin Pain Relief was the most advertised Brand in
Print
• Most ads were colour ads
This week, AdEx India looks at the ‘Analgesics/Cold
Tablets’ category. First, let’s take a look at
the advertising spends in this category across the years 2002
to 2005. |

1.4 times increase in Analgesic advertising spends in print
in 2005 compared to 2004
• The growth in 2005 was the maximum observed in the
last three years
We also looked at the zone-wise advertising scenario of Analgesics.
Below are the findings:

• Most advertising
for Analgesic/cold tablets category seen in West Zone
• South & North Zone have almost equal share of spends.
Further, we also studied whether Analgesic/Cold Tablets advertisers
preferred Magazines or Newspapers. The results are as follows:

• Analgesic/Cold tablets advertising is done almost
entirely in Newspapers

Tablets brands advertised in Print media in 2005. |

• Crocin Pain
Relief was the most advertised brand with 35% share of ad spend
• Top 5 Brands constituted 87% of the total ad spends
Do advertisers of Analgesic/Cold Tablets prefer colour or B/W
ads?. |

• Most of the Analgesic/Cold tablets ads were colour
ads
