• Mobile phones advertised more in Southern publications
• Nokia Corporation topped mobile phones advertising in Print with 35% share in Jan-August ‘06
• Maximum new mobile phone brands launched by Nokia (19) and Motorola (18) in Print during Jan-Aug ‘06
• Advertising skewed towards general interest newspapers while among magazines, general interest ones had a huge share followed by special interest magazines
• A huge 57% share garnered by Sales Promotions in newspapers in Jan-Aug ‘06

• Mobile Phones saw a rise of 28% in Print advertising in Jan-Aug ‘06 over Jan-Aug ‘05
Zone wise share of advertising by Mobile Phones in Print in Jan-Aug 06 period

• South zone got the maximum share of 32% of Mobile Phones advertising advertising during Jan-August 06
• West and North zone followed with 28% share each
Top Mobile Phone Advertisers in Print in Jan–Aug 2006

• Nokia Corporation topped Mobile Phones advertising with 35% share in Print in Jan-Aug 2006
• LG Electronics and Samsung India came were 2nd and 3rd with 25% and 14% share respectively
Top Mobile Phones in Print in Jan–Aug 2006

• Nokia Mobile Phone had the highest 9% advertising share in Print followed by LG X-mobiles and Sony Ericsson Mobile Phones with 7% share each


Advertisers with maximum number of new brands launched in Print in Jan–August 06 compared to last 5 years
• 77% share of new Mobile Phones launched in Jan-Aug ‘06 were contributed by the Top 5 advertisers
• Nokia Corporation launched a maximum 19 new mobile phones through Print ads during Jan-Aug ‘06 compared to previous 5 years
• Motorola closely followed with 18 new mobile phones
Top New Mobile Phones launched in Print in Jan–August 06 compared to last 5 years
• The Top 3 new brands found a position in the Top 10 list in Jan-Aug ‘06 also
• Samsung N710 topped the list of Mobile Phones launched through Print advertising in Jan-Aug ‘06 compared to last 5 years

Genre of Newspapers and Magazines used by Mobile Phones in Jan–August 2006
A ratio of 97:3 of Mobile Phones advertising in Newspapers and Magazines
• In Newspapers, 95% share contributed by General Interest newspapers followed Business newspapers with 5% in Jan-Aug ‘06
• In Magazines, a high 47% share contributed by General Interest magazines followed by Special Interest magazines
Promotions used by Mobile Phone for advertising in Newspapers and Magazines during Jan–August 2006
• A huge 57% share of Sales Promotions used in Newspapers compared to 7% in Magazines in Jan-Aug ‘06
• Among Sales Promotions in newspapers, highest 48% share of total ads used for Price Promotions followed by Add Promotion and Multiple Promotion


Growth in average number of number of Mobile Phone ads per day in Print in Jan–August 2006
• Jan-Aug ‘06 saw a 17% rise in average number of Mobile Phone ads per day over 2005 in Print
• 2005 had a 10% dip in average number of ads per day compared to 2004
