Analysis of Hair Care advertising in Print during Jan-Aug 2006: AdEx study

• Hair Oils garnered the maximum 43% share in Print during Jan-Aug ‘06

•17% rise observed in Hair Care print advertising during Jan-Aug ‘06 over Jan-Aug ‘05

• Hair Oils contributed the highest 43% of Hair Care advertising in Jan-Aug ‘06
• Hair Dyes in 2nd position with 21% share closely followed by Shampoos with 20% share
Hair Care Categories with maximum growth in advertising in Jan-Aug 06 compared to Jan-Aug 05



• A huge 6-fold growth in Print advertising by Hair Conditioners in Jan-Aug ‘06 over Jan-Aug ‘05
• Shampoos observed a 2-fold growth
Share of Hair Care advertising in Newspapers and Magazines during Jan–Aug 06



• Hair Care advertising skewed towards Newspapers
• Among Newspapers, North zone had the highest 45% share followed by West zone during Jan-Aug ‘06
Share of Core Brand vs Brand Extension advertising in Print in Jan–August 2006



• 68% advertising share taken by core brands in Hair Care compared to 32% share of Brand Extensions in Jan-Aug ‘06
Top Hair Care brands advertised in Print in Jan–August 2006




• ‘Himani Navratna’ topped Hair Care advertising in Print with 11% share in Jan-Aug ‘06
• ‘Streax Hair Color’ in 2nd position with 6% share closely followed by ‘Chik Black Shampoo’
Sub-categories of Hair Care with maximum new brands launched in Print during Jan–August 2006



• Hair Oils contributed the maximum 42% share among new brands launched in Print during Jan-Aug ‘06

Sub-categories of Hair Care using Print Innovative ad-layouts during Jan–August 2006



• Shampoos had the highest share of ads with innovative layouts in Hair Care in Print during Jan-Aug ‘06
