International/Private Tourism Spenders contributed 77% of

This week, AdEx India looks at the Travel
& Tourism category. First, let’s take a look at
Travel & Tourism advertising spends across the years in
Print.

Travel & Tourism witnessed growth across 2000-04 with
maximum 54% growth in 2002, 32% growth in 2003 and 29% growth
in 2004 respectively.
Let’s also look at the advertising pattern of Travel
& Tourism spenders within quarters across 2000-04.

| The maximum Travel
& Tourism advertising is seen during January-March across
2000-04 in Print.
Travel & Tourism advertisements come from International/private
players, States and advertising from Government. Lets look
at the percentage spends share from each sector in 2004.

| The pie shows that
International/private spenders had 77% of the share whereas
State advertising had a 14% share and the remaining 9% share
was taken up by the Indian Government.
