• Growth of 42% in Noodles/Pasta advertising in Jan-May ’05 compared to Jan–May ’04.
• 2004 observes the highest growth across 2001-04.
• ‘Maggi Vegetable Atta Noodles’ rules advertising during Jan-May ‘05.
• English –the most preferred language by Noodles/Pasta advertisers.
• Magazines, the thrust of Advertisers.
• General Interest Publications gets max. advertising.

This week, AdEx India looks at the ‘Noodles/Pasta’ category. The chart below shows the growth of ‘Noodles/Pasta’ advertising in Press during the years 2001-04.

 


• 2003 observes a de-growth of 25%.
•Highest growth in 2004 (41%) across the last four years whereas 16% in 2002.

The table below shows the growth in advertising in Press during Jan-May 2005 as compared to Jan-May 2004.


• 42% rise in advertising in Jan-May ’05 compared to Jan-May ’04.

The table below shows the Top Advertisers in Press, along with their brands, during Jan–May 2005



• Out of the entire advertising share, 100% is contributed by the top 5 advertisers
• ‘Maggi Vegetable Atta Noodles’ rules Print advertising (92% share) during Jan–May 2005

Let’s analyze the language preferred by Noodles/Pasta advertisers during Jan–May 2005.


• English, the most preferred language.
• Bengali at second position

Where do these ads appear more - Newspapers or Magazines? The pie diagram below gives the answer.


• 56% of ads in Magazine whereas Newspapers gets 44% share

• Finally, let’s look at the type of Publication Genre used by the Noodles/Pasta advertisers.


• Maximum usage of General Interest Publications
• Women’s Magazine at 2nd position with 27%
