week, AdEx India looks at the advertising trends of Tourism
Industry on Print during Jan-May’07. (Note: The entire
analysis is based on Volumes in Column Centimeters)

• Dip of 5%
was registered in print ad volumes of Tourism Industry during
Jan-May '07 compared to Jan-May ‘06 • Indian
State ourism and Private* (* includes International also) players
saw nearly equal drop in ad volumes |

players walked away with a large chunk of ad volumes on Print
during Jan-May’07 • Jan-May 07 saw advertising
by 34 Indian State Tourism players whereas approx. 1500 players

players focused their advertising mainly in the publications

Tourism Industry, ‘Cox & Kings India’ was the
Top player with maximum 13% share followed by ‘Ministry
of Tourism’ with 10% share • Among the
Top 10 players in Indian State Tourism, 3 of the players were
from South zone
• Apart from 3 International players, Travel based portal
also could make it in the Top list in the Private* segment

brands launched by Tourism players on Print |

Overall 367 new brands were launched in Tourism sector on
Print during Jan-May’07, out of which 55 brands were
contributed by Indian State Tourism players
• 6 of the Indian State Tourism players made the top
10 list apart from 2 brands of International players
• Among the Festival/Events used by States to promote
Indian Tourism sector, 3 of the new brands belong to Tamil
Nadu
