had a 6% share in overall Print advertising during Jan-August
07
• Although there is 34% rise in number of brands advertised
on Print in Jan-Aug 07 compared to Jan-Aug 06, there is a
dip in their ad volumes.
• During Jan-Aug 07, Newspapers and Magazines saw an
advertising ratio of 98:2.

peaked in the month of March, where Hero Honda Motorcycles had
the maximum ad insertions.
• January and June 07 also saw a small peak in automobile
ads.

share in the Car/Jeep segment during Jan-Aug 07. •
Motorcycles took the 2nd largest share of pie with 28% share,
where maximum share was contributed by Bajaj

• The Top 5 players
had a 55% share in the overall automobile advertising during
Jan-Aug 07.
• Maruti Suzuki took the lead by advertising maximum
for its brand ‘Maruti
Suzuki Zen Estillo’ whereas Tata Motors
stood 2nd, advertising the most for ‘Tata
Indica V2 Xeta Petrol’ and ‘Tata
Indigo LS’.

• Overall 279
new brands were launched on Print under the Automobile sector,
maximum new entries were in the Car/Jeep segment. •
GM (General Motors) had three of its brands in the Top 10 list.

In the Non-Metro city newspapers, Chandigarh had the maximum
automobile advertising share during Jan-Aug 07.
• Whereas among the Metro cites, Mumbai was the focus
for automobile advertisers..
