• "Loans" contributed
7% share in Banking/Finance/Investment sector, with
25% dip in advertising volumes on Print in Jan-Sep
‘07 over Jan-Sep ’06.
• Share of Private players increased from 75%
in Jan-Sep 06 to 80% in Jan-Sep 07.
• Q1 and Q3 of year
2007 saw maximum advertising by Private players and PSU's
respectively.
• Private players offered maximum of "Housing/Construction
Loans" whereas PSU's preferred advertising
with "Multiple* Loans".
• 45% advertising on Regional language
publications followed by English and Hindi publications
with 30% and 25% share respectively.
• "ICICI Bank" and "SBI"
topped the advertisers list in Private and Public sector
respectively.
• Overall maximum new loan schemes
offered by Private Players and PSU's belonged to "Housing/Construction"
and "Personal/Professional"
category.

"Loans" category of "Banking/Finance/Investment"
sector saw a drop in advertising share of volumes from 9% in
Jan-Sep 06 to 7% in Jan-Sep’ 07..
• A fall of 25% in ad volumes on Print
of "Loans" category in Jan-Sep’ 07 as compared
to Jan-Sep’ 06.
• A drop of 20% was seen in number of
loan schemes advertised on Print in Jan-Sep 07 as compared to
Jan-Sep ’06. |

•
Private players led advertising share
in Jan-Sep’ 07 and PSU's followed with 20%
share.
• There were nearly 420 loan schemes offered by Private
players contributing 80% of advertising share
and over 20% share put together by 155 loan
schemes of PSU's.

Quarterly advertising trend
|

•
Nearly 40% of advertising by Private players
and PSU's in the first quarter of the year 2007.
•
PSU loan schemes made a leap of 5 times in
number in the third quarter and crossed the 50%
share mark.

players in Jan-Sep 07 as compared to the same period of previous

• PSU's registered huge dip in
number of loan schemes as well as their advertising volumes.

Private players offered nearly
90 "Housing/Construction" loan schemes
whereas PSU's offered half of it in Jan-Sep 07. •
Private players had a high advertising share in "Auto
loans" while PSUs focused their schemes on "Housing/Construction"
and "Education" category of loans.

• Newspapers had a huge 96% of the
loan advertising, while Magazines had just a small share of
4%.
• Regional language newspapers were
preferred more by the loan category advertisers (Malayalam
publications in Regional).

players offering loan schemes
|

•
"ICICI Bank" topped the Private Player list,
advertising for 21 loan schemes across all 8 loan categories.
• SBI, the top PSU, offered 27 loan schemes
across 6 loan categories.

• There were 130 new loan schemes advertised
by the Private Players on Print in Jan-Sep 07 as compared to
23 new schemes of PSU's.
• Overall maximum new loan schemes offered by Private
Players and PSU's belonged to "Housing/Construction"
and "Personal/Professional" category.
• PSU’s made new & attractive loan offers like
"Indian Bank IB Aishwarya" for making
women self-reliant, "PNB Baghban"
for Senior citizens etc.
