This week, AdEx India looks at the Biscuits category. Let’s take a look at advertising spends by biscuit manufacturers across the years 2000 to 2005.


• Growth of 62% in biscuits advertising spends in 2005 compared to 2004
• 5% dip in biscuits advertising spends in 2003 compared to 2002

Let’s look at the top biscuit brands advertised in print medium in 2005.


• Top 10 Biscuits Brands contributed 67% of advertising spends
• Priya Gold Biscuits topped the list with 20% share closely followed by Parle G Power Supply

Which type of publication -- Newspapers or Magazines -- was used the most by biscuit advertisers for their ads in 2005? The pie below gives the answer.


• Maximum biscuits advertising went to Newspapers

Lastly, let’s find out which publication genre was used the most by biscuit advertisers.
