Radio promotion in print drops 49 pc in H1 ’09: AdEx Analysis

• Print advertising of TV Channel Promotions was almost constant, whereas Radio Channel Promotions decreased by 49% during Jan-Jul'09 compared to Jan-Jul'08.

• High share of TV and Radio Channel Promotions in Non-Metro Newspaper during Jan-Jul’09.

•‘Star TV Network’ topped the advertisers list of TV Channel Promotions and ‘Synergy Media Entertainment’ leads in Radio Channel Promotion in Print during Jan-Jul ‘09.

Volume Growth of TV and Radio Channel Promotions in Print during Jan-Jul’09


• Print advertising of TV Channels remained almost constant during Jan-Jul ’09 compared to Jan-Jul’08.

• During Jan-Jul ’09, Print ad volumes of Radio Channel Promotions recorded a drop of 49% compared to Jan-Jul’08.

TV Channel Promotions in Newspapers and Magazines was in an advertising ratio of 92:8, whereas advertising of Radio Channels in Newspapers and Magazines was in the ratio of 94:6.
Zonewise Advertising of TV and Radio Channels in Print during Jan-Jul ‘09

• Almost equal advertising share of TV Channel promotion on North and West Zone Publications during Jan-Jul ‘09.

• West zone Publications recorded the highest share i.e. 40% of the overall Radio Station Promotions in Print, followed by North zone and East zone with 37% and 13% share respectively.

TV & Radio Channel Promotions in Metro, Non Metro and Mini Metro Newspapers

• Max. advertising of TV Channels in Non Metro Newspapers (47%) and Metro Newspapers (40%) during Jan-Jul ’09.

• Advertising of Radio Stations was highest in Non Metro Newspapers i.e. 46% followed by Metro and Mini Metro with 28% and 26% share respectively.

Top Players for TV and Radio Channel Promotions in Print during Jan-Jul ‘09

• 59% share contributed by the Top 5 advertisers of TV Channels in Print during Jan-July’09,where ‘Star TV Network’, ’Viacom 18 Media Private Ltd’ and ‘NDTV Network’ were the top 3 advertisers.

• Top 5 advertisers share aggregates to 95% of the total advertising share of Radio Channel Promotions in Print during Jan-Jul ’09.

• ‘Synergy Media Entertainment’, ’HT Music & Entertainment Co Ltd’ and ‘Adlabs Radio Pvt Ltd’ were the top 3 advertisers of Radio Channel Promotions in Print during Jan-Jul’09.
