Analysis of Property/Real Estate advertising in Print in Jan-Sept 2006: AdEx study

Key Findings:
•  72% jump in Real Estate Print advertising in Jan–Sept ’06 over Jan–Sept ’05

•  Advertising skewed towards General Interest newspapers; Northern newspapers had the highest 41% share in Real Estate advertising in Jan-Sept ‘06

• In Magazines, General Interest had the highest 35% share followed by Women’s genre with 26% share

• ‘DLF Group’ topped Real Estate print advertising

• Metro cities garnered a high 54% share of Real Estate advertising in newspapers



This week AdEx India looks at the advertising trend of ‘Properties/Real Estates’ in Print during the period of Jan-Sep 2006. (Note: The entire analysis is based on Volumes in col. com).
Growth in Properties/Real Estates advertising in Print during Jan-Sept ‘06 over Jan-Sept ‘05



• Properties/Real Estate saw a 72% jump in advertising during Jan-Sept ‘06 over Jan-Sept ‘05
Share of Genre used by Real Estate advertisers in Newspapers and Magazines in Jan–Sept ‘2006



• ‘General Interest’ genre contributed 89% share of Real Estate advertising in newspapers
• In Magazines, apart from General Interest genre, there was a high share of advertising in Women’s magazines in Jan-Sept ‘06.
Zone wise share of Properties/Real Estates advertising in Newspapers during Jan–Sept ‘06



• Real Estate advertising skewed towards Northern newspapers with 41% share
• Southern and Western newspapers followed with 29% and 25% share respectively
Top Properties/Real Estate advertisers in Print in Jan–Sept ‘06



• ‘DLF Group’ topped advertising with 6% share in Print
• ‘Parsvnath Developers’ wa in 2nd position with 5% share
New Real Estate advertisers in Print during Jan-Sept ‘06


• HDIL was on Top among the new advertisers in Print
• Assotech/Supertech in 2nd position
Share of Properties/Real Estate advertising in Main Issue and Supplements during Jan–Sept ‘06


• 67% share of advertising in Main Issue, remaining 33% share was contributed by Supplements
Share of Properties/Real Estate advertising in Metro, Non Metro and Mini Metro cities in newspapers during Jan–Sept ‘06



• More than 50% share of Real Estate advertising in Metro cities in newspapers
• Mini Metro cities garnered 12% share of Real Estate advertising
Usage of Print Innovative ad-layouts by Properties/Real Estate advertisers in Jan–Sept ‘06


• Maximum usage of Figured Outline ad-layout by Real Estate advertisers followed by L-shape layout ads in Jan-Sept ‘06
• ‘KLJ Group’ topped advertising with maximum number of ads with Innovative layouts
