• During Apr '07 - Mar '08, Newspapers and Magazines were used in an advertising ratio of 95:5.

• 7% growth in Magazine ad volumes during Apr ’07 – Mar ’08 compared to same period in Apr ’06- Mar ‘07.

• Maximum advertising on English language magazines during Apr ’07 – Mar ‘08.

• 44% share contributed together by ‘Women's’ and ‘News/Current Affairs' genre.

• ‘L’Oreal India Pvt Ltd’ was the top advertiser on Magazines during Apr ’07 – Mar ’08.

Ad Volumes on Newspapers has seen a growth of 3% during Apr '07 - Mar '08 over Apr '06 - Mar '07.

Whereas, 7% growth recorded in Magazines ad volumes during Apr '07 - Mar '08 compared to same period in last year.

The Top 3 contributors in the Regional Magazine ad pie were 'Malayalam', 'Tamil' and 'Gujarati'.


Share of Magazine Genres in Print during Apr'07-Mar'08

Women's genre garnered a share of 23% of overall Magazine ad pie, closely followed by 'News/Current Affairs' genre with 22% share during Apr ’07 – Mar’08.

'Business/Finance/Economy' and 'General Interest’ and 'Media & Advertising' genres were at 3rd, 4th and 5th position respectively in the Magazine’s genre list.

During Apr '07 - Mar '08, 'Children' and 'Media & Advertising' had observed almost equal growth in its ad volumes compared to Apr '06 - Mar '07.


Top Sectors in Magazines during Apr'07-Mar'08

 

'Services' sector had the maximum share of 14% closely followed by 'Personal Accessories' with 13% share during Apr '07- Mar '08.

‘Media’ with 8% share came in at the 3rd place in overall advertising on Magazines during Apr ’07 – Mar ’08.
