The Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), the representative body of television broadcasters, got its website (ibf-india.com) recently. Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Jaipal Reddy, launched website.

Asked on the objective behind launching the website, Naresh Chahal, Director, Finance, IBF, said, “The website has been launched just to give proper information related to the broadcasting industry to the advertising agencies and the masses.” He added that IBF was the only body in India, which represented the broadcasters.

The website provided accreditation to advertising agencies on the precondition that they did not have disputed outstandings with any channel, said Chahal. He added that some more features like recent notifications from the I&B Ministry and TRAI would be added to the site.

Set up in September 1999, IBF was formed to promote the burgeoning television industry. IBF has played a significant role in protecting and promoting the interests of its members and freedom of the electronic media.

The launch took in the presence of members of IBF, Advertising Agencies Association of India, Indian Newspaper Society and I&B Ministry officials.
