The shortlist for YoungGuns Awards 2009 has been announced and four Indian agencies feature in this list this year – Ogilvy India, JWT India, Leo Burnett India and Rediffusion Y&R – with a total of 13 entries.

The YoungGuns are open to creative professionals and students under the age of 30 years. The nine-year old Awards platform celebrates work emerging from around the world. The focus is not necessarily on work for big brands or with huge budgets, but on ideas.

Ogilvy India has a total of eight entries for its work on Sour Marbels for Perfetti Van Melle India in the Out of Home Campaigns, Out of Home Outdoor posters (titled Caveman, Diver and Tourist), Print Advertising Newspapers (titled Caveman, Diver and Tourist) and Print Advertising Campaigns Newspapers categories.

JWT India has three entries – the campaigns for India Berger Paints, The Times of India India and Sulekha.com in the Out of Home Outdoor Large Format, Digital Being Involved and Digital Visual Design categories.

Leo Burnett India has one entry for P&G’s Whisper India in the Direct Mail Low Volume Mailings category, while Rediffusion Y&R, too, has one entry for Bharti Airtel Ltd in the Print Advertising Campaigns Newspapers category.

Ravi Deshpande, CCO and Chairman, Contract Advertising, is the only Indian on the YoungGuns 2009 jury. Tony Granger, Global Chief Creative Officer, Y&R, is the jury chairman for the 2009 Awards. The other jury members include Amir Kassaei of DDB; Lisa Fedyszyn of Colenso BBDO; Eric Kallman and Craig Allen of Wieden + Kennedy; Saatchi & Saatchi’s Dave Bowman; Leo Burnett’s Andy DiLallo; and Google’s Justin Baird. The online digital jury comprises Nick Law of RGA; Seb Royce of Glue; Fabio Custer of Cutwater; and Clemenger Group’s Adam Good.

Winners and Finalists of the YoungGuns Awards 2009 would be declared at a ceremony in Sydney on November 27, which is being hosted by Publicis Mojo at their offices in Walsh Bay. YoungGuns will also be broadcasting the 2009 winners and finalists through their YouTube channel simultaneously.
