London International Awards 2009: Ogilvy India, DDB Mudra, Leo Burnett India bring home the metals

Three Indian agencies have made it to the winners’ list at the London International Awards 2009. Among the winners from India are Ogilvy India, DDB Mudra and Leo Burnett India. In all, 10 awards and two finalists were awarded to Indian agencies. The winners were announced at the 24th annual London International Awards.

Ogilvy India scored a total tally of four Silver metals and four bronze metals for its work on Sour Marbels Candies, titled ‘Caveman’, ‘Diver’ and ‘Tourist’, under the Poster and Print categories, respectively.

Leo Burnett India earned a Silver for its work on Bajaj DTSI range of motorcycles, titled ‘Bots’ in the Television/ Cinema – Editing category. As for DDB Mudra, the agency bagged a Bronze for Islamic Research Foundation titled, ‘Bush’ in the Radio - Public Service/Social Welfare category.

Amongst the finalists, Leo Burnett and Publicis India scored a finalist each for Tide Detergent titled ‘Tide Stainbroidery’ and ‘Let Gandhi Talk’, respectively.

This year, from the total 13,117 entries received from 78 countries, only 0.56 per cent won Golds, 1.28 per cent won Silvers, 1.5 per cent won Bronzes, while 1.46 per cent were Finalists.

The London International Awards, which was conceived in London in 1986, has established itself as a global leader, honouring advertising, design and digital media. For the past 24 years, the LIA has celebrated the power of ideas, and recognised the legends, iconoclasts, and avatars of creative excellence.
