How
are regional brands like Ghari Detergent, VI-John, Cremica, Emami, Rupa,
Catch, Mankind, Lava and Wagh Bakri taking the biggies head-on; and how's
their marketing strategy different. Pitch finds out.
As Yuzuru
Kato, chairman, Dentsu India Group, eases Rohit Ohri into the role of
executive chairman of India operations, Noor Fathima Warsia
talks to them to find out what is on their agenda. Dentsu Inc., Tokyo
is now focused on reviving its presence in India, after buying off the
26 per cent stake held by entrepreneur Sandeep Goyal and his wife Tanya.
Goyal had built the India arm from scratch and taken it to great heights.

Swapan Seth’s book ‘This is All I Have to
Say’ cannot be reviewed the usual way... It simply deserves to have
excerpts quoted verbatim, says ad man Satbir Singh. A
handy little package, the book is a bit of a ready-reckoner, a DIY guide
to living. It’s pithy. You cannot point to a word and say, “Hey,
that wasn’t required.” Swapan distils life’s time-tested
nuggets of wisdom. He then looks at them through the lens of his own experience.
Think of it as wisdom that he’s test-driven himself and you can
then see where the easy familiarity comes from.
