Praneeth Reddy of Media Contacts and Zapaks Eklavya Bhattacharya have their digital quotient bang on as the team comprising the duo was declared winner of the Mumbai round of the inaugural DQ, Will you Click. The Digital Quiz, which was held on March 11, is an initiative of the exchange4media Group, and covered all aspects of the digital world Internet, mobile, gaming, animation, and technology, among others.
Microsoft Advertising was the presenting sponsor, while Zapak and 160by2 were the co-sponsors. Bloomberg UTV was the broadcast sponsor. The other sponsors included e-Zone and Tyroo, while Rashi Entertainment was the event partner. Stylekandy was the style partner.
Mahesh Murthy of Pinstorm and Sunil Lulla of Times Global Broadcasting played the perfect hosts of evening and taxed the grey cells of the participants and the crowd alike with their questions.
The quiz comprised a preliminary round to shortlist six teams for the finals of the Mumbai round. The other regional rounds of the DQ, Will you Click Quiz will be held in Bangalore and Delhi. The top two teams of each regional round would then fight it out at the grand finale, which will be held in Delhi on March 19, 2010.
For the Mumbai round each team comprised two members and there were a total six teams. Besides Reddy and Bhattacharya, the other five teams comprised eBay Incs Abhimanyu Lal and Rajen Prabhav; Pinstorms Jayakrishanna R and Crisils Dhananjay S; Tata Capitals Govind Grewal and IMRB Internationals Ameya Samang; and Buffetts Straws Balakrishnan S and Reshma Nayak.
The Mumbai regional was divided into nine rounds Warm-up round; Run-up round; Bharat Mata Ki Jai round; Threesome Time; Graphic Traffic; Penultimate and Ultimatum.
Some of the interesting questions asked included Recently, who tweeted to whom: 1 billion...u r nuts my friend completely absolutely mad and wonderful; another question asked was He came from the textile business and then threw it up to enter the digital industry. He co-produced the movie 99. He also published a book I too had a love story, written by one of his customers. Who is he?; and The leading magazine about hacking in the world is called 2600. Why?
With the first regional round completed in Mumbai, DQ, Will you Click now moves to Bangalore for the next regionals on March 12 and will be held at the Lalit Ashok.
